Vision /Mission Statement For Rampark N.S.

Rampark N.S. is situated on the main Dundalk to Carlingford road, 12 kilometres from Dundalk and between the Cooley Mountains and Dundalk Bay.  The old Rampark School, about 200 metres from the new school was built in 1852 and continued in operation until 1959 when the “new” three teacher school was opened. An extension of four classrooms was built in 1989 and at present the school has 183 pupils, seven class teachers, one full time and one shared Special Education Teacher.  The school is under the patronage of the Catholic Archbishop of Armagh and the Board of Management, representative of Patron, Parents, Teachers and Community is appointed by him.  The school operates under the Rules for National Schools, Department Circulars and Education Legislation as enacted by the Oireachtas.  The school promotes a Christian / Catholic ethos and strives to ensure that every child develops to his / her full potential in the following areas: Academic, Physical, Moral, Emotional, Spiritual, Aesthetic, Cultural, Social and Personal.

The school will follow the prescribed Curriculum of the Department of Education and Science taking into account the school context factors of multi classes and class size.  Children will be encouraged to care for the environment in the school building and grounds and in the neighbourhood and wider community.  Children will be encouraged to take part in competitions relating to the environment, sport, art and writing.  Children will be prepared for the sacraments of First Penance, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation with the support and involvement of their parents and the parish clergy.  Children will be prepared for transition to Post primary schools and consultation will take place with those schools with regard to their academic achievement and their particular talents.

An atmosphere of care, concern, respect and support for each other will be fostered in the school.
