This year we are working towards getting an Active School Flag for our school. The aim of the Active Schools Flag initiative is to encourage schools to be more active, more often. In Rampark N.S. we have always acknowledged the importance of promoting a balanced lifestyle, understanding that daily physical activity is paramount to maintain a healthy body and mind. Our school offers a wide range of sports and activities to our pupils. These include Gaelic football, soccer, rugby, swimming and dance. As we work towards our Active School Flag, we will be incorporating these and many more events throughout the year.
You will find all the latest Active Flag news below.
Our annual Jingle Jog was a big hit again this year. Everyone was feeling festive in their Christmas jumpers and completed laps of the school grounds. 🎄🏃♀️🏃🎄🏃♀️🏃🎶
Our Active School Leaders have been doing an excellent job over the past two weeks leading Active lines after break and lunch.🏃🏃♀️💪👏👏 They’ve got the whole school moving and keeping fit. Keep up the fantastic work.👏👏
After a busy election campaign members of our new Active Schools Committee were elected in December. The committee is made up of children from 1st to 6th class. The role of the Active Schools Committee is to lead the school in active events and challenges throughout the year. Congratulations to our successful candidates.
The 12 Days of Fitmas helped us count down the last days of school before our Christmas holidays while keeping us Active. It was great fun too.🏃♀️🏃☃️❄️🎄
From the 8th of November to the 3rd of December every class in our school committed to taking an Active Break every day over the four weeks. These Active Breaks help us to stay healthy, concentrate, focus and have fun! Classes tried out different activity breaks including running breaks, dance breaks and exercise breaks. Many classes used Just Dance, Go Noodle, Jump Start Jonny, 10 @ 10, Supertroopers and lots more.
Our Active Assemblies for our first term were led by the pupils from 6th class. The boys and girls created their own Active Assemblies to help keep our school fit and healthy. We had dance and exercise activities for the whole school to enjoy. Great work.👏👏👏
We are delighted to take part in the Daily Mile here in Rampark N.S. The Daily Mile is simple and free and gets children out of the classroom for fifteen minutes every day to run or jog, at their own pace, with their classmates, making them fitter, healthier, and more able to concentrate in the classroom.
Our annual Jingle Jog was a great success again this year. We held it in school in line with Covid restrictions but still managed to have fun, keep fit and raise money for P.E. equipment and Barnardos. Well done and thank you to all involved.
Well done to all our pupils in Rampark N.S. who have been busy with the Run Around Ireland Challenge. 🏃♀️🏃🇮🇪 The children have already reached many different landmarks around Ireland.🇮🇪👏🇮🇪☘️ Great fun is being had by all while staying active and learning lots of history and geography too. 💪👏👏☘️ #activeschools
